We got my dad a 6 hp Toro last year. Day after we got it, there was 6 or 8 inches of snow. Well-timed to say the least. It has electric start, but it starts so easily that I just use the pull-start. The thing goes through anything. It's great. I would definitely recommend it.

Good one... just engaged... she does the cooking and the laundry and I get just about all the other work.. not a bad deal I don't think.

If you get one, make sure you get a good one the first time. I reccomend John Deer. They will last a long time assuming you take care of it such as yearly maintenence before and after season. Over the long run, it saves more to be the high quality one versus a cheaper one, unless of course, you're tight on money at the time.
