Snowblower buying advice...

The budget is $500, I need something that'll take care of itself. I don't want to come home and have to fix it everytime they break it.

I've used a Toro Snowthrower for a couple of years now and it handles the snow pretty well.

It's not meant for a Minnesota or Buffalo, NY winter but works just fine in Ohio. I think there are some models in the $500 range too.

Is it a snow blower or a snow thrower?

Single stage units push the snow out partially compressing it and displace it out the tube - snow blower.

Two stage units do the above in the first stage and in the second stage a high speed fan (keyword fan) with paddles scoots the unwanted white stuff out the shoot with great speed - snow thrower.

No, this is not a "is the glass half empty or is the glass half full" question! 🙂
