Snow tires

Winter is coming here in upstate ny and I need to get new snows.

I have a 2004 subaru impreza wagon. I'm going to be using 15 inch steelies with a tire size of
195/60-15.

I am currently looking at these pirelli winter carvings.
They seem to have a good balance of price, design and performance.

I will be doing about 3000 miles a month, with much of it on the dry pavement highways. I have gone through a set of hakkapeliitta 1's and liked them very much. The angled tread design worked great on the dry pavement, and very well in the deep snow/ice.
Nokian no longer makes the hakka 1's and has made new tires. Two of which are studded, and two which are not. I really don't want to spend over $100 a tire so I am not going with nokians this year.

A few other choices I have are ..

Michelin X-Ice
Dunlop Graspic DS-2
Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 or artic alpin (not sure if the artic alpins have been discontinued)

The Pilot Alpins are up in the range of $100 per tire. At that level I would rather go with nokians.
I will not consider or buy Blizzaks, ever.

Has any one used any of these tires listed, specifically the Pirelli Winter Carvings?
