I had the opportunity to take my car out last night. Just for shits and giggles.

I had put on my snow tires last week (THANK GOD).

It's quite fun, drifting on the road where there are no cars and just snow plows coming from a distance :)

Had no problem controlling the car, or no spin outs either.

BTW: Stock = 17"
Snows:16" with Nokian Snows

lol

it's drifting in a way.
There is way too much traffic here when the weather is nice. No place to do it.

Yeah, the LM-22's are ok, but the WS-50's are a pure snow/winter tire...

I actually went to a narrow tire for the 16 x 7's on the stang now... Stock is 225/55/ZR16, I have almost bald 225/50/ZR16 Dunlop SP8000 on there now, and I got four 215/60/16 WS-50's for the stock rims. I ordered a set of 17" x 9" AT Italia Razze 5 rims for the rest of the year, and I'll likely skin those with four 245/45/ZR17 SP8000.

As for the bulbs, I got my first shipment last week and the bulbs are very nice, and there doesn't seem to be a limit for ordering, so I went ahead and ordered 24 of the 15W(60W), 20W(75W), and 23W(100w) for a total of 72 bulbs. I was planning on selling them as 6 packs on Egay, but when I get them I'll shoot you a PM for first dibs... :)

No, no...it's Bad tires + RWD + Clear Roadway + multiple inches of snow + light rear end + lots of torque and HP + agressive gearing = even more fun ;)

Heh...it took me like 10 minutes to get to the other side of the parking lot in the Mustang with my fat, and almost bald Z-Rated Dunlops...and when I was moving forward, it was more of a diagnoal motion...heh. You need to hit the gas with a freakin feather or you spin almost imediately.

:)

2nd gear is your friend...

Once I convince my dad to put a 350 in the S-10 I'm going to own this argument ;):D

Heh. ;) Before that happens, I will likely be replacing my modded 302 with a brand spankin new FMS 347 stroker motor...;)

When you get the 350, and I get the 347, we can meet somewhere in the snow and see who can go nowhere the fastest...:Q;)

I had brand new RE040's last year like 2000-3000miles max on them. Got hit with a baby blizzard. I got stuck on the Turnpike and had Lexus Roadside come rescue me.

AAA couldn't make pickups on the Turnpike so Lexus sent a third party towing company, had me rescued.
I had to shell out either $130 or $160 for the rescue but Lexus covered it completely and reimbursed me the money.

Well, given equal tires, I think my almost non-existent back end + low end gearing (on the necessarily new transmission) would win.

Probably. What ratio you got in there? I dumped the 2:73's long ago in favor of some nice 3:55's. :)

My mustang is already in the garage and probably staying there most of the winter. Not even going to try and drive it in the snow. The tires that are on it now make driving on wet roads fun enough.

I wish I could do that, but mine is my only car, and has been daily driven, year round for the 10 years+ I have had it...

As for the rain, it's probably not just the tires...the stock suspension is teh suckage. The first mods I did to mine was all supension because I like the twisties, and the stock fox body supension is downright scary...

:)

This assumes I can convince my dad to lay out the cash, since I'm certainly not going to... so I dont know. I imagine it would be fairly comparable, roughly around 3.5x...
