Snow Storm in London

DaWhim

Lifer
The road are not plowed, nor salted either. All the sidewalks are icy, no one shovel their sidewalk here.

bus service has been shut down. the tube is half running. It took me double of the time to get to work. My work place is deserted, half of my team are not here. What the hell am I doing here?

3hrs door to door to get in today...

I tried to cycle at 7:40 but after a few meters it was a no go, turned went to leave the bike at home. Then I walked in.

Where abouts are you guys in London? I' at Canary Wharf.

It's pretty pathetic that the UNDERGROUND isn't working for the parts that are UNDERGROUND...I had to take a savage route from Waterloo.

6 inches is really nothing to me. I used to live in Buffalo and we got snow by feet.

6 inches is a lot for UK standard. the city is not ready to plow the road and they don't have such equipments.

The EU voted against freak weather, so we don't get tornados, tsunamis or heavy snow anymore.

You guys got to vote? Lucky.

oh my fellow AT'er, I am at CW too! 25 canada sqaure, don't tell me you happen to work at the same building too.

I take bakerloo line. I thought my commute should be pretty smooth when they said jubilee line was not running between stanmore and waterloo. They shut down jubilee line in waterloo when I got there. FVCK! I ended up going to kenington to get myself back to london birdge on the northern line.

I understand why they do this though. if everyone get on the tube at waterloo, london bridge would be totally flooded with people.

On the weather yes, but the referenda on everything else has been scrapped in favor of a dictatorial government.

 That isn't even that much snow. The snow banks outside my house are about 7 feet stall, even after yesterday when it got to like -5C.

We don't really get much snow here any more 🙁 I'm glad it did today even if it's a little amount, even if people cannot drive in it!

I know, but it is a rare treat around here 🙂 BTW where do you live?

duuuuuuuuuuuude, I wish it was snowing when I was there!

6 inches is nothing for us in Minnesota...in London, that's probably a blizzard 😀

It's a zoo in southwestern Ontario right now.

In metro TO it's fine, but as soon as you get out to the burbs surrounding the city, every house has piles of snow at either side of their driveway of 6+ feet of snow. There's nowhere left to even shovel new snow.

My inlaw's place has snow so high on their front lawn it piles up in front of the window at the front of their house.
