Snow Leopard + my PC = ARRRGH HELP!

I stayed up till 6:10 this morning trying to get SL to install on my Hackintosh. From yesterday morning until now I've Googled and read everything I possibly could on the subject. I'd guess I've installed it 10 times, I guess I am making progress as it's not fucking up in the same places it was yesterday lol. Here is the only thing I cannot figure out, I have no idea if this is the problem. But this is a step that's not clicking. I have an ATI 4800, all the guides I've read say to use EFIStudio to get your video cards EFI string, great, if I had a Nvidia card. I did download the Natis ATI4800something or other.kext 4800legacy maybe? I'm tired and my brain can't think too hard. When I install SL, the first time I reboot (now) I boot -v and get ACPI_SMC_Platformplugin:start - wait for service appleintelcpupowermangement) Timed Out. And it just stops there.

Now I have the kexts I'm suppose to, the fakesmc which is supposed to override the appleintel one, I've also deleted that ktext just to be safe. For me to type up how I've installed it would be too long for anyone to read, so basically here's a link to one of the guides I've followed. I've tried 4 different ones, about 3-4 times each. 10.5.6 runs great on my box. I'm not getting kernel panics, if I don't boot -v I just see the Apple boot screen. I let it sit there for about 15 minutes nothing happened.

try empire efi. What motherboard do you have??? What is an ATI 4800? 4800 series? 4850/70/90. Or did they come out with a 4800? I dunno

Seems like graphics enabler would do it. New chameleon has it built in. I think... I use DSDT till im told other wise lol

DOH left specs off, DFI Lanparty P45 DK-TR2S Elite. I have mostly everything on it working on my 10.5 so I figured Snow Leopard would be about the same. I guess I figured wrong lol. Video card's a 4850, which others have working in SL. I just reinstalled it again and this time I get a kernel panic as soon as it starts to boot, even in single user mode. Of course it's not telling me nothing about what causes it, at least not obvious like the panics I were getting yesterday.

Still no luck, I tried 4 more installs last night. Hummm, all the stuff I read about SL say it's not even much changed from 10.5. All this work for nothing lol. I'm not giving up,

I did and it didn't work, I tried the legacy and the regular. myhack did however work for me. I have everything except my sound working. A lot of work for me to go from 10.5 to 10.6 I hope it was worth it lol

I got SL working with everything except my sound, MB has a 885 (889a?) chipset, VoodooHDA detects audio but I can't get any sound, I tried all 8 ports on my built in sound. Google isn't helping me, other than I might need to create a DSDT, someone on IRC #snowleopard did that for me and it didn't work. In my properties I get headphone/digital & SPDIF. I'm stumped here.

SL is pretty nice, not a lot different than 10.5 but a lot of small things that really seem better already.

*EDIT*

has to be connected to the front headphone jack of the case, I'm sure this can be fixed if I knew how to edit a DST and change the layout but I'm happy for now lol. I'm liking SL more and more, been 4 days since I've booted into Win 7 and I'm not missing it at all.

I have that tool, was recommended, it's not what I'd call "simple" lol. I'm an old school Windows dude. So OSX isn't simple to me (yet) and I'm not a programmer so I don't know if I'd ever be really good at editing DSDT files, aside from copying and pasting some text into it I got somewhere else. Right now I got sound + QE so I'm not going to mess with it much. Got all the apps I wanted installed and did a Time Machine backup.
