Snow Leopard Disc

I bought a Macbook not so long ago and it came with Snow Leopard, however I had an accident with it and now it's broke 🙁

So I bought a second hand Macbook Pro from a friend but it only has Leopard.

My question is: Is it likely that the install disc for my Macbook won't work for my Macbook Pro? I heard that the discs that come with the systems (as opposed to ordering the OS by itself) are hardware specific.

They were hardware specific for Tiger and Leopard, so I see no reason why Snow Leopard wouldn't be as well.

You could just pull the drive from the MacBook and put it in the MacBook Pro though, that will work.

What the heck did you do to this MacBook that it is dead, but not covered? Did you spill water on it?

Ouch. Well, if the hard drive is still good, then you can pull it and put it in the MacBook Pro. Otherwise, you might want to buy the $29 disk.
