Anyone else? My kids get to sleep in.

No snow yet, of course. Supposed to start late this morning, get a couple inches. Snow day? Bah, in my day we never had snow days, we had to walk to school - well, you get the idea.

nope, another above normal temp day here, about 60F

the youngest is sick though, been puking her guts up since yesterday afternoon 🙁

snow days > sick days. hope she feels better soon, and hope you don't get it too

it didn't even start yet and they cancel schools in Jersey!

29 inches in NYC and they don't cancel!

Damn Bloomberg.

I don't really care either way I gotta work, but my dad's a math teacher.

Man, I just arrived at school, and then I hear they cancelled it. It had just started snowing 10 minutes before I got there, and there was less than an inch on the ground, and every school in mid-Michigan was cancelled, go figure... This is Michigan, they never cancel unless theres 2 feet or more. I think the cancelled in "anticipation" of a huge snow storm or something.

today in SE lower MI it was insane. It went from freezing rain, to hail the size of peas to sleet mixed with snow with a little bit of thunder and lightning mixed in all within one hour. Now it has stopped but will be starting up again with snow/freezing rain.

All the local schools have cancelled classes.
but Me=no kids=the only one who can work today.

came into work today and found out that so far 11 people have sent out emails stating they will be working from home.

im looking to leave around 12 and wfh this afternoon. afternoon commute is supposed to be real bad...

Not to sound like an old man but, ya in my day there had to be a foot of ice on the roads before they called it a snow day. Now if the weatherman says we might have snow tommorow schools are closed (lucky kids).

Update, I just got back from a client call and the roads are ice. The main roads aren't bad but the local roads are nasty. As are sidewalks, so kids would be walking in the street. Dangerous.

They got the call right.

My teenager is still sleeping at nearly 1:30pm. I'm debating whether to be a nice mom and let him sleep all day, or be mean and wake him. I will make him shovel/chop ice later, of course.
