Snow Day at Central Washington University

That's nothing. The U of M never closes for snow, or any other weather for that matter. Pansy Starbucks drinkers! 😛

It's funny you should say that. I was talking to one of my math profs yesterday that's from Michigan. He said that sub-zero temperatures and heavy snow falls like this are what most winters in Michigan are like. He said they're nice because they make all your problems seem less important when concerns like basic survival come into play. He's a funny guy. 🙂

Seriously. The windchill today was around -15F. And not only does the U of M not close, but they somehow end up making their sidewalks into one huge sheet of ice, even though they think they're clearing the snow. It'd be a lot safer if they just left the snow where it was, but instead, I have to walk without looking up, or else I'll fall.

We had -12°F temps a couple days ago. It was so cold taking a 10 minute walk from my truck to work that I thought my ears were going to fall off. 😛 We also get the nice ice sheet sidewalks. I don't understand that kind of logic. I'd rather trudge through the powdery snow than skate around on the ice. 😛
