Snoopy Flying Ace

I see Queasy got this, and I'm downloading the demo now. Anyone else have it? What do you think?

I'm hoping this could be as fun as Crimson Skies on the original Xbox.

Yep, I bought it for my son last night and we were playing co-op. Very cute game with lots of humor and action.

Generally you are just fighting wave after wave of planes until you achieve an objective. There are some levels where you take control of gun turrets on the ground or have to fly through hoops.

I didn't get to try the multi-player yet but the co-op could get hectic with two planes going against 10 or so enemies.

My only complaint right now is that the text for the names of the enemy planes is almost unreadable for me. Don't know if it is just because I've got bad eyes or because the text is too fuzzy and ill-defined.

My wife was bored at home the other day and said something I never thought I'd hear her say: "Is there a game we could play together?" Unfortunately at the time the answer was no, I've got mostly FPS games and such...but I might have to pick up Snoopy and see if she likes it. Does it require the use of lots of different buttons? That's one of the biggest things she hates about consoles.

If she's not used to games this might not be the best choice depending on how motion-sensitive she is. My wife can barely watch me play this, since you are swerving around in the air and occasionally going upside down.

It doesn't use every button on the controller, but there are a fair number. Left stick for basic control, right stick for special moves, A/X (turbo/brake), B (weapon switch), RT = machine gun, LT = other weapons.

Yeah, that's probably too many to start with (she gets dizzy watching me play Portal). I made a new thread inquiring, maybe I'll get some good game ideas there.

Thanks for the response!

Downloaded the demo last night, actually a good amount of fun. I may have to purchase the game.

I bought it... fun as hell.

Not only that, it also has a MW2-like leveling system which makes any game addictive.

I need to unlock the full game. It's fun enough that I can justify the cash.

How long does it take to complete?

The single player? No idea, I've had so much fun with the MP so far I haven't even bothered.

Most of the things I've heard so far is that it's pretty short... 2-3 hrs maybe.

I'm not that good at the game but I'd still be up for some AT multiplay, even if I get my butt kicked. 🙂

Tried it. Meh. It's not about dogfighting it's about who has unlocked the best weapon, or so it would seem from the demo. After a couple of multiplayer games, the score list was basically sorted in order of level reached. Also, it's just chaos with special weapons shooting everywhere. If it was about straight dogfighting that might be fun, but as is I'll pass.
