Snoop Dogg Arrested Following UK Airport Quarrel
Apr. 27, 2006 - New York, NY
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Calvin "Snoop Dogg" Broadus and five members of his entourage were arrested last night at the Heathrow Airport in London. The rapper was scheduled to play three shows in South Africa, beginning tonight as part of South Africa's Freedom Day Celebrations, when a debacle occurred while attempting to board the plane.

A fight broke out when members from Snoop's crew were turned away from the first-class business lounge by authorities. A Scotland Yard spokesperson told the BBC that "The party was told that they would not be permitted to board their flight and officers then attempted to direct the group to baggage reclaim." Police were involved in the melee and seven officers reportedly left the scene of the incident with minor injuries.

Snoop was released on bail and was forced to cancel his first show which was expected to take place Thursday evening in Johannesburg, South Africa. It is unknown thus far whether Snoop will play his shows on April 29th in Durban and May 1st in Cape Town.

In related Snoop Dogg news, the rapper is crossing over into the literary world with the release of "Love Don't Live Here No More". The book will be published by Atria Books and is reportedly about a young man living a rough life in Southern California while attempting to climb the professional ladder of hip hop.
