SNMP Traps generated from a PC

I am trying to test my reception of SNMP Traps. I believe I have configured a windows 2000 machine to send traps upon certain events. My question is upon what events does windows 2000 send out a trap. All the help says is that the events it sends out traps upon are defined internally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
