The game just barely released, and I'm downloading it right now. I enjoyed the hell out of the demo; probably played it about 10 times, attempting different methods of taking out enemies, and refining my sniping skills.

So are you getting Sniper Elite V2? Why or why not? If you're hesitant of shooters that focus only on sniping, I would disregard any current notion you have of "sniping games" and give it a try. Based on the demo and gameplay videos, it's actually really damn good. I'm excited to finally play the full game.

i'll get it when it's on sale for like $20.

The demo was fun in seeing the internal damage but i think thats going to get old after awhile. the AI seemed really dumb but they can see you crawling on your stomach inside a dark building from 300 yards away (before you even fire a shot).

It's "meh". Decent game, but very clunky, also plagued by invisible walls and somewhat broken stealth.

I'm a couple hours into V2 and it's pretty awesome, definitely an improvement over the first. My only complaint is that even on hard difficulty, it's still a little too easy to "rambo" through the smaller areas. In wide open spaces with lots of enemies you have to be more tactful, but in other places you can run around and pop people's heads off without much effort.

I realize that this game isn't supposed to be a "sniping simulator" of any sort; so I'm not expecting nitty gritty realism, but I'm a little miffed that hard mode is still kinda easy. That's just me though.

Enjoyable otherwise.

Its a remake of the first one so I'm guessing they fix anything that may have been wrong with the first one. The graphics for the first one didn't look that good even for 2005. At least according to the videos I have watched. V2 looks interesting. I'll wait for reviews and then decide.

It's not a remake. It's a sequel. I've played both games, BTW.

The "V2" in the game's title doesn't necessarily mean "version 2". It actually refers to a main element of the game's storyline. (Hint: V2 rocket scientists)

Anyway, I'm still enjoying the game, it's really satisfying. I'm on the end of level 4 and I'm starting to regret playing on Hard mode... I'm getting killed. A lot. :p

no, it's not a remake


i actually ended up buying for $30 from that getgamesgo site. have to download it on steam anyway.

On the Steam description it said it was a remake so hence why I said it was a remake. Still looks interesting though. Just waiting for some solid reviews.

I'm on the 2nd or 3rd level after the tutorial level. The 1st one after the tutorial is the same as the demo, with a little extra stuff added.


the game is pretty easy so far. I am playing on the middle difficulty. some levels have noises that allow you to shoot without being heard when the noise goes off.

enemy vision is really good still. they can see you from pretty far away.

i think the graphics look better on my laptop with 6990 than the GTX 580 on my laptop.

Hmm I may have to check this out, at least the demo anyway.

The first game looked like something I would enjoy but my little bit of research into the game made me think it was okay but could have been a lot better, so I never bought it.

the internal cam kills are always satisfying for some reason. too bad they don't happen more often.
