Sniper demands Loads of money???

I searched OT and didn't find anything about the sniper demanding money so I'm not sure if this is a repost but.... my local tv station reported that the sniper is apparently demanded a buttload of money from the police in his phone call. He apparently called and left details on how to give him the money, but that part was scrambled so the cops told him to call back yesterday "to get it right." He supposedly said the killings will continue until he receives all his money. The phone booth wrapped in shrink wrap that was all over the news was the phone the sniper allegedly initially called from to call in his demands, thus the incredible flurry of police activity at that station. I heard all this after Monday Night Football but haven't heard anything since.

I don't buy it. This guy is too smart to do something that stupid. Asking for money is a sure way to get caught. It's either BS or he is setting the cops up for something.

It is possible that some POS lowlife who is not at all connected to the shootings decided to cash in and demand money.

I can picture a bunch of citizens getting mad at the cops for not paying him off to quit. Hard telling what events will unfold in the next month.

Yep. People are stupid. Do this and the nation would be rife with copy-caters. Nobody in this guy's position will get money unless you're holding a city hostage with a major weapon. Threaten to blow up a city with a nuke and you'll get some money, but this you'll just get more cops on your ass, because society can't afford to be victimized in this way and paying off exacerbates the problem.
