I know there's an overpopulation of cats and dogs, but thinking about cats getting their... well, "privates" removed.. just makes me sad. Isn't there another way to do it? Like a cat vasectomy? Where they still have the hormones but just can't reproduce?
 
Who gives a shit. Being conscious of one's sex drive and viewing it in a positive or motivating light is generally a human phenomenon, for cats and dogs its just a very feral instinct. When the balls/ovaries go, so does the retarded necessity to incessantly mark your territory on other people's property.
 
Do they actually remove the privates? I thought they just did a snip snip of the passage, unless it's different for males and they just chop the whole thing off. 😱
 
When we got our cat fixed (and declawed at same time lol poor thing) she was a little depressed and in pain for about a week, then it's like it never happened. They heal pretty fast.

Yep. My cats could open doors in the house (door knobs, not handles) with their paws, and they were very good at waiting for the squirrels to come to the bird feeders for hunting.
