I'm a formal charity even and there are two dudes wearing sneakers with a suit.
Major pet peeve of mine. A kid or a real old guy that could be hurt from a fall are the only ones who get an excuse.

Only time this is acceptable is if you have an injury, or you're in the city walking to/from a job and the weather sucks, and you have a pair of formal shoes in your bag.

I've tried to pull this off at like conventions, but I always feel like I look stupid. So, I wear the dress shoes and my feet hurt at the end of the convention.

My pet peeve is people who have pet peeves. Who cares what someone else is wearing, especially if it's as innocuous as that. The fact that it's a charity means what people should be caring about is raising money and promoting the charity, not whether someone is wearing sneakers with a suit.

Man you gotta get some better dress shoes. My go-tos are a pair of Allen Edmonds, I can wear them every day, on my feet all day, no sweat.

Heh, it's a pet peeve when I see young retards using brown belt/shoes with navy. It's a stupid ass new millennial-ish trend that looks incredibly stupid 99% of the time.

So do I need to add dinner jacket and sneakers to the alternator?

I hear ya. I'm just not in the $400 pair of shoes range right now.

You can get a comfortable pair for around $200 or less too. It's a good investment if you often need to wear dress shoes for work or other functions. They will last you a long while if you take good care of them. Why spend money on less expensive shoes that don't last long and put up with the discomfort?

Only time I ever wear non-formal shoes with a suit is when I'm walking to and from work, and then change when I get to work.

the above is an example of how not to get into the elite 200K club.
