We also have a 300kw (400hp) version of the LS2 in our HSV GTS300 and upspec HSV Clubsport R8's which are based on the Commodore platform.

IIRC HSV does have something much more powerful in the works for the Commodore platform.

The front end is actually nice, I think it's the hood that's throwing you off. Hopefully it doesn't make it into production.

I hope they don't keep that Pontiac emblem. It looks like a V rather than an arrowhead.

LOL

Aren't these both basically the same company? The GTO is a Monaro, etc. Just little differences, but basically same deal.

Yes exactly right, only this time the design came from Oz, instead of Opel copy!

I can't wait until Clarkson rips it a new one though :p

Actually, Clarkson quite liked the GTO!/Monaro!

Actually, that might just sum it up.

They should build it at their Opel plant near Frankfurt and show ads of it pwning the Nurbürgring to complete the package.

Can't stand the hood and can't stand that awful two-tone interior. Other than that, I LIKE!

you would probably like the GMH VE Commodore SS that it is based on....no bonnet scoops and different interior.

Wait, I don't see any Nav system, and why isn't the cruise control integrated into the steering wheel?

B/C the GTO platform is old as dirt? IIRC, we first saw the GTO's platform back in 1996 when the 1997 Cadillac Catera was introduced.

On top of that, this looks 10x better and seats 5.

2 door gto, 4 door g8. I fail to see the model range problem there.

It's nice, but the tail lights are too small for my taste. Something about the body just doesn't seem sleek.

The GTO on the other hand was too plain...the G8 I can't explain, but it needs some curves...
