We just had 2 power cuts in the last hour in residence and now that it's back on my roomate's monitor is f'd. When he turns it on there is a loud hissing noise and a slight burning smell.

Don't feel so bad... my ViewSonic G790 gave it up about two weeks ago, after being in service since 1998. I replaced it with a P95f+..

My p775+ is still trucking... thankfully.

He's over the shock now.

I loved my PF790, but it started whining and that sucked.
I now love my HP F50 LCD. But the PF790 rocked for gaming.

Needs moar UPS. I've got my HT and both computers on UPS's
