Snakes, Spiders, both, or neither?

The snake killing thread prompted me to come up with this. I've found that amongst people I know very few of them like both snakes and spiders, or hate both of them. Usually it's one or the other. So I ask you all.

Liking them means being comfortable with having one say, up in a tree in your yard (heh). Basically are you comfortable in their presence in general.

Snakes don't bother me. Unless it is a diamondback or similiar venemous snake.

spiders dont bother me as long as its not a brown recluse.

snakes on the other hand scare the bejesus out of me.

"like" is too strong of a word for me, i am indifferent to both. i wouldn't have either as a pet

my wife/kids make me kill all the spiders in the house, if i saw a snake outside the house, i would go inside and watch TV until it went somewhere else

Snakes kill vermin. Spiders kill other vermin-like bugs. Both are good in my book.

I'm allergic to spider bites, therefore those bastards are only good for being a smear on the sports page.

Snakes are cool though. There was a pet store doing a "reptile week" once and I just wandered around carrying a half-dozen ball pythons. Fun.

There are almost no snakes in my country (only a handful in the wilderness), but harmless (or mildly dangerous) spiders are common.
I'll smash the spider I encounter at home, there is no need for them to catch insects.

I like snakes, but spiders I cannot stand. I had a brown recluse bite once - open running sore on my foot 2" across for a month and a half. For that, they and all their cursed kind are condemned to Death by Pellet Gun.

I'm not really afraid of either so long as they cause me no serious harm. The brown-recluse and black widow spiders terrify me, but otherwise I love spiders. I don't get many snakes around here, but we have them all over our lake house. I don't bother them, and they don't bother me. My family always loved going out to our dock on the lake to watch all the spiders building their webs at night. Over time many of the spiders would alter their location and building habits according to the levels of success they would experience at certain points on the dock. It was fascinating to watch.

I don't MIND snakes or spiders in the least UNLESS they are venemous and nearby. I do fear and respect cottonmouths, black widows, etc.

I hate spiders, so much that I won't even go near them to kill them, and especially because of the mess they make.
I run away screaming and hope I don't see them again

I hate spiders IF i see one i will kill it or run away screaming like a little girl.

Now snakes are a diffrent story. I have a few Ball pythons, Red Tail boa and some garter snakes. the garter snakes are the best. they are always out looking around trying to escape. They also eat goldfish so thats cool.
