Honestly that is a pretty good plasma TV for the money.

To improve in picture quality at that size you have to go above $1k, so that seems like a good deal!

I would jump on it, plasma doesn't have a lot of time left!!!

I have an LG bottom of the line 60" plasma from 2011. When user calibrated, it is one of the best entry level plasmas. When I called for an ISF calibrator and he took a quick look at it he told me to not bother. The user available settings I had got me close enough.

Again, it was bottom of the line. In 2011 that meant no smart features, 3 HDMI inputs but it was $800 and it had fantastic color reproduction. On top of that is supported 1-to-1 pixel mapping and 24 frame output meaning, with both enabled Bluray's are purely represented and you can use it as a giant monitor with every pixel unaltered.

My only nag is there was ABSOLUTELY no effort to coat the screen to prevent reflections. My parent's bottom of the line Insignia plasma (a Best Buy rebranded Samsung) had a coating. But again it was bottom of the line, so I don't complain... much. :)

I would buy LG again at that price no questions asked.

Yeah the LG will be reflective but so is that low-end Samsung. If you have a super bright room the budget doubles, no way around it...

Just a heads up to the OP. The 60'' Samsung plasma that a couple people recommended is $798 right now at Walmart. Type it in over at slickdeals.net and you'll see it pop up.

I'd get this instead
http://www.frys.com/product/7571916?...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Samsung has better plasmas than LG.

Be aware this is a Pentile display. Not saying don't get it, just, be aware of it. Unfortunately, the 60" F5500 is also Pentile, and so is the 64" H5000. Goddamn Samsung...

P.S. The F5500 series does not have the calibration abilities that the F5300 and H5000 possess. Another thing to keep in mind...

Can you really tell the difference with a pentile screen unless you right up on it then its looking like a screen door.

Well id be tempted if the LG pb6600 wasnt already on its way here.. still cheaper and shipped.. and the samsung is not even in stock anywhere close to here and walmart still is 100 miles away round trip.. idk which is better tho but to late now!

There was one user over at avsforum.com that initially said No, but then after some TV watching said in certain circumstances that Yes it was noticable.

The other thing to note on these lower budget plasmas is the glare potential. Again, not saying don't get them, just be aware of it.

I think for the price you got a good deal. You can always do better for more money.

have no idea when they will show up with it tho.. and delivery is just frieght.. no "white glove" where they set it all up for me or anything.. that was 70$ extra.. but not having to haul it in the car should be cool if it comes in one piece.. excited to see it setup. to bad custom subs shouldnt be done for a week at least ;/ x2000 with 530$ on subs should turn this tv into decent setup..

The samsung is 800 tho and yea.. always better for more expensive.. just hope this is the the perfect ratio / cheap / performance haha

OP,
What happened to the E300 you purchased???

i bought a e300 for 200 bux a week ago? .. only thing is i have 2 subs and dont know where to hook them up on it.. i guess the "sub preout" rca looking plug.. but the subs are speaker wire.. so just connected tem to rear channels and barely hear them / shrug.. e300 is ok not really much better than the maudio monitors i had been using connected to rca adapter / pc .. but i am not a audiophile.. ((obviously)))

As far as heat just plug in laptop cooler to any receiever just 20 bux and usb passthrough so doesnt even steal the only port.. mins nice silent 160mm coolermaster sitting on top the denon e300 seems cool as ice and fairly quiet

It died ;P got it from accessory4less! i guess its denons fault (was suppose be refurb looked new tho) .. it output very cracky blown sound (1 week after use? ) not sure why tested as much as could maybe user error so just bought x2000 instead.

and of course tv never got delivered i had to call schedule it to be dropped off another 4 days from now heh.. just hope its in one piece and i be happy

White glove means they bring it into your house where you'd like it installed, unbox it and plug it in make sure it at least works. Otherwise depending on the delivery company. Some will literally make sure you're home then just drop the box off on your property.

Realistically with the 3 TVs I had delivered, each was always kind enough to haul it into my garage. I told them I'd like to unbox and turn the TV on to make sure there's no obvious damage so I can refuse it and they take it back. Each time they've been as happy as I was to unbox a large TV. Men and their toys. :)

i didnt pay for white glove.. i had stack of 1's i was going to give as tip and ask if they could wait while i checked it out.. but instead just shrugged signed and they took off.. was tiny bit of pain to put the stand on the bottom on slap it up on the stand. Looks nice enough, maybe even a little to big! hahah looks ridiculously big i giggle thinking about using it for computer monitor instead of this tiny 39" LG :p
Came with all these magnetic plug cancelers. high tech..
