i just found it too. =) http://global.shuttle.com/Product/Barebone/SN25P.asp has information.

i've been waiting for something like this: small form factor, a64, PCI-E, SATA. however, it doesnt have DDR2.

is there a clear advantage when weighing P4 w/ DDR2 and A64 with DDR1? i think i just like a64 better.

my last comment, it looks like there is a space for a hard drive above the optical drive. i am new to SFF; is that a ok place to put hard drives? is it common now?

can't wait! maybe SLI and DDR2

EDIT: found a review: http://www.sfftech.com/showdocs.cfm?aid=653

and answered one of my questions: p-chassis for extra hd two hard drives above the optical drive!

VIAN, sorry, i still dont know where to buy it =(

Re: A64 vs P4

For a SFF pc, I would choose the A64, as the power consumption is significantly less than a P4.

This advantage grows as the processor is run near capacity. (eg. distributed computing)

This should allow the A64 to run quieter.

DDR2 isn't big for AMD as it is for Intel. AMD uses the Less Latency approach, while Intel uses the More Bandwidth approach. At the moment there is no real performance gain from going to DDR2 because of the added Latency that DDR2 modules must have to function properly.

DDR2 is worthless right now, except it may be better for Intel, either that or Intel just wants to boast new features.

SLI is a different story, but I wouldn't get it now either because I've noticed many people having trouble with SLI working properly. IMO, SLI just has too many issues to be something at this time.

I don't think SLI will be coming to SFF any time soon, if it does at all.

My friend is reseller, and he says mid April for him to get any. Now his company doesn't do much vomule so some the bigger guys might get it faster.

But so far no one is even taking pre-orders, so I would not hold my breath.

Shuttle web site is finally taking orders for prebuild systems. But even they say 4-5 weeks before shipping. Thye are not
Its looking like mid April is looking more and more like its about the right time.
Biostar might actually beat them to market.

Targeted this one for my next project, hope they show before end of march. Oh well, plenty of other things to spend money on in the meantime, lol.

Damn, I sold my desktop to get this. I hope this arrives soon because I already have the X800XL and just bought the $129 A64 3000+. Luckily I still have my Dell 700m to keep me from being computerless

I had kind of been looking forward to this, but I think it's just not for me. The main reason is that I just bought an HDTV tuner card - PCI, or course - and there are no PCI-E ones that have even been announced yet. Not to mention I'd need to dump my AGP 6800GT. I could just go for the nForce3 one, but then I'd just want to upgrade again in three months when the new video cards are out. So I'll probably just be staying with the standard ATX thing for now. :p

The system still looks really nice though - if I had the money to build a secondary system, it would almost certainly be a SFF.

I've got an X800XL, 300gb SATA, DL DVD burner and two gigs of Corsair ready and waiting for the SN25P as well.

Where did you get the A64 3000+ for $129?? :Q

NewEgg has it for $158.

I got the 3000+ for $129 at Monarch Computer. The price over there is crazy. One day they'll be at $149, the next day they'll be at $129 and you never know when they are going to pull the hot deal. Haha, I'm totally ready to max out this shuttle with 2x200GB SATA Seagates, 1 120GB Seagate IDE HD, Pioneer DVR-106 DVD Burner and 1Gig of Mushkin BH-5 RAM.

Thanks. I always forget about Monarch Computer, lots of great deals over there. I locked in a 3000+ at $129 through their "get a quote" system. :)

Any word on a release date for the SN25P??

Edit: The drivers are available.

My periodic searches for "SN25P" on Google finally presented me with a sidebar last week to CensusPC.com, who had a dozen or so in stock.

I ordered one, it is in transit and as of today they are listed as "out of stock."

It is finally a selection at Newegg.com, though it is also listed there as "out of stock. You (and probably 500 others) can set up notification for when it does become available.

Or keep obsessively putting "SN25P" into Google everyday until some merchant appears. Worked for me . . .

Dang.. I was all itchy to get this thing. I might wait now until the demand lessens a bit.
