hi, I'm planning on building a dual setup w/ a couple of flip chips (haven't decided on the speed/budget yet) & I'll like to know which slotkets run smp setup reliably...

I know the MSI ones have the smp feature built into it, but I guess I like to have other options. How's Iwill's slotket II?

Also, would I run into any problems trying to run smp setup with fcpga/slotket setup compare to slot1's? I would like to go with flip chips, so I could have an option to run them separately later...

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Btw, I'm not looking to oc them. I just need them to run well...
So far, hardwares planned are:
Tyan Tiger 100
Mushkin Hi Rev. 1.5
G400Max & scsi setup...

Thanks!

I had the same question a few ago.. the celeron slockets were dual enable because the celeron itself wasn't SMP so the slocket made it SMP, the P3 are already smp so the signals passes through without the "need" for smp slockets.

SMP Slockets only apply to celerons not P3.

All FC-PGA slocket can do SMP beacause all the chip does is pass the signal through..

Make sure you get the same stepping or if you run two different ones, you may run into problem.

There isn't problem with running fc-pga in smp because rambus i840 uses fc-pga since slot 1 is slowing phasing out.. slowly.. I notice slot1 prices shot up in a lot of places while fc-pga gotten cheaper..
