i've got a dual athlon board but i dont want to throw down the money for dual MPs

unlocked tbreds have all the features of the MPs, correct?
is there ANYTHING that i will lose by running XPs instead of MPs (other than the warranties)?

are the tbreds default unlocked for smp, or does it require the bridge connection mod regardless?

thanks for the help!

You have to do the mod to get them to work SMP.

You don't lose anything, they are the same chips. However, the SMP circuitry on the non-MP chips supposedly isn't tested. If that is true, there is a chance that you may get a chip that doesn't function properly in an SMP system.

i have a 2400+ xp and have tried connecting the L5 bridge (.:::[:] this one) with conductive grease, but then i get a nasty error from my asus a7m266d saying something about invalid core voltage, followed by it shutting itself down. this was just after a bios upgrade to the latest version. i have modded a 1800+ successfully, but i never got this error before. is it due to error in mod or the motherboard?

I'm trying to mod my XP 2200+ to MP, but when I put it in the board my poor little PC just beeps alot. :brokenheart: According to my little lights on D-LED my cpu is damaged or incorrectly installed. I guess I have to look at it closer this weekend :(

I have done the mod to make an XP to MP and it works with the Tyan Thunder K7 mobo that I am using. I even went one step more and mod my XP 1700 to run at XP2400 speeds. The CPUs are TBB cores and I noticed the only difference between them and the 2400 are 2 bridges that are cut. So I cut them and now the mobo sees them as 2400 and run them at that speed.
