Smoothwall hates me!!

After sleepless nights of hair pulling i got my smoothwall server running. But guess what it crashed just to annoy me. Can any one tell me why. When i plug adsl modem in the first time it worked like a charm for about 2 days. Now it wont connect. I thought it was my modem as the server was running and belive me when it was working I was leaving it alone. But on the second day it keep saying it was dialing on the home page. I can connect to the server but it will not connect to the internet. So I unpluged the modem from the server and pluged it straight in to my windowws xp slave and you guest it straight away i was connect to the net. So i plugged it back in to my smoothwall server an it will not connect. I have red connected by PPPoe as my modem has its own PPPoe software and when i set red to Dhcp I get nothing. I had to change my modem over to PPPoa as i could not connect with PPPoe but this was done before i setup the sever. Just when I thought Microsoft was the root of all evil along came my smoothwall server.

YOur provider usually dishes out IP addresses on a MAC basis..call them up and tell them that "you just bought a new PC and need to hook it up instead of your old one"

I can Delete The MAC from the modem and reconnect. But the modem uses 192.168.0.1 for admin pages. when i set up the ip addresses for smoothwall as 192.168.0.* i can not surf the net. But when i set it up as 10.0.0.* i can surf the net either way i can not get in to the modems admin pages through the smoothwall server. So I can not connect it.
