...well I figured out why the coworker I deemed "smoothboy" had me do all that work for him. Aparantly setting voltage jumpers is beyond his comfort level. And so is understanding that if I am going to walk 1/4 of a mile to do a CPU swap after telling you I will need to go in the internet to get the MB manual DON'T WALK AWAY for 10 minutes w/o logging into your computer. I won't be there when you return.

Computer expert my ass. He doesn't even know how to do a clean Win98 install without loading it down with garbage and just recently I introduced him to "removing a CPU from a ZIF socket" Apparantly he had gone through life getting people to think that because he can insert cards that he was a computer guru (he claims that hi 333M2 w/ 128MB ram is faster than a 550P3 w/ 512MB, and is suprized that it's not 333MHz)

There's lots of people who believe they know a lot about computers. Our hardware repair tech have never removed a cpu from it's socket until I showed him. Of course it's easy to make people think you know a lot about computers because most people don't know anything. And, there are a lot of people who do know quite a lot about computers but have to spout off about things they don't know about because they don't want people to think they don't know what they're talking about. Apparently, they'd rather be though a jerk than an idiot. Of course, they're both.
