How's the shipping charge? And isn't the Sunon fan noisy?

edit: Here's one of many positive reviews of this HSF:
OC
Great deal! (But "Smoking Hot" may not be appropriate for a HSF! :) )

I like the Zalman heatsinks, much quieter. I wonder how this compares to the stock coolers that come with cpus?

Many people do not buy "stock coolers" but buy OEM CPU's.

This SK-7 for 19.99+ shipping is a good one. This YS-Tech adjustable fan is great with this hs.

Get a 92MM instead, pushes more CFM and its quieter! I like the TT DC which pushes 56CFM @ 35DBA, or if your a little big more daring, the YS-tech 66CFM @ 40dba. I use the YS-tech 66cfm on my XP2100, great cooling and not so loud!

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try one of those. Less noise without losing airflow is always good :p

Hmmmm, seeing all this talk about HSFs make me wonder if I should buy a new one or not...it'd be for a crappy old system anyway, so I dunno if it'd be worth it.

the SK-7 does not take a 92mm fan. What would the best choices in 80mm fans be. People keep telling me about the Panaflos, but they do not move much air (sure are quiet though). What would be a good choice in the 35dB range?

Swiftech's MCXC370 is a quality heatsink with top rate performance and is very easy to install - worth serious consideration.

look into panaflo U1A (there are 4 different levels). 47cfm at like 35 dba or something around there.

24dba should be near-silent as a whisper is 20dba. You might want to look into changing the fan. It could be failing.

the best heatsink you will buy.. will never be something baught off the shelf. first you need to find an efficent heatsink that has middle of the road noise ratios. I really like the millenium heatsinks as they are high end on heat removale and very quiet compared to likewise heatsinks.

Now you take said heatsink, and install a pointemeter into it, turn that sucker down and youll keep checking to see if your fans still running its so quiet. Unless your overclocking like a somebitch, you should be hitting around 45-55c with the sucker turned down. I do this to all my computer except my main, which has an a7v333 motherboard and uses the QFan chip to slow the fan down automaticly.
