Smoke Detector malfunction...

The upstairs smoke detector in my house has been going off for almost a full 24 hours now. Driving me crazy!!!!!!! I tried fixing it but its hard-wired to the main electrical system of the house...cant stop it. The repair guy should be here soon....but just had to vent, cause haven't been able to sleep since it started beeping.
 
Just switch off the fuse that controls the smoke detectors. Don't forget to turn it back on when fixed.
