Smith's face getting owned by Neo's fist in Matrix Revolutions... rocked or lame?

I remember seeing it in the theaters and thinking that scene rocked. Watched it on DVD tonight, and it didn't seem to look as good the second time around. Your thoughts?

If the machines wanted to wipe out the humans, why couldn't they of filled that drilling thing with a chemical weapon (like anthrax or something) that would of killed all the humans at the dock?

the events leading up to the punch were definitely CG-ish, but smith's face getting pummelled looked damn realistic IMO.

I like it more for the reasoning behind it, showing Neo could basically go on for as long as he wants...but that he eventually knows he has to lose the fight to win the war. Anyone notice that the rain is standing still as his hand goes through it...thats pretty damn fast

Remember they have to keep 16 males and 7 females alive for the next iteration of Zion, how would this be done when you gas the place??

Exactly... that was a major theme in this movie... balance/mutual benefit/cooperation... machines need humans, humans need machines. Remember the scene in reloaded where that old fart takes Neo down to the engineering level... foreshadowing underlying themes.

Well, as much as I love the Matrix and think it was truly a revolutionary movie, the last two movies really sucked........Neo's fist smashing Smith's face was not going to save that movie......:)

i must admit...the screenshots look pretty awesome

but i still remember the cinema sequence looking kind of lame.
yah, i think you're talking about the sequence leading up to the punch. it begins with a wide angle view of neo about to punch smith, then the camera zooms in on neo's fist and follows through until the end of the punch. for whatever reason, the wide angle "shots" are clearly cg, whereas the punch looks damn realistic.
