From the prolific producer John Wells ("ER," "The West Wing") comes the fast-paced drama SMITH, which tracks a diverse crew of career criminals as they plot and carry out high-stakes heists at prominent locations around the country. Ray Liotta ("Goodfellas") stars as the team's no-nonsense leader, looking for that one elusive big haul before going straight--or at least that's what he tells his wife ("Sideways" Oscar® nominee Virginia Madsen). He's walking a tightrope between his present life and the new one they hope is on the horizon.

More than having sex, every man wants to be part of a heist. "Where's the van? The van was supposed to be here!!"

This looks like one of those shows that would be MUCH better if it were on HBO. There are too many limits as to what you can do on netowork TV.

But it does look interesting.

Agreed. Good cast, too.

Oh hell yeah. Ray Liota, Amy Smart, Virginia Madsen...

The other new show this fall that should be on HBO or Showtime is Shark.

Lots of movie stars coming over to the networks this year.

It reminds me of the short lived series Heist that NBC did last season. It was just getting good when it was cancelled. I enjoyed that one, although not as much as Thief on FX. THAT was a good show.

Andre Braugher rocked that.

It was pretty good, but slightly predictable.(Mile high club action)

Ray Liotta's getting a bit long in the tooth.

agreed. but that song was used in the OC first wasn't it? they should have got something else. heh.

is it bad when the first thing I thought about was the venerable Smith Chart?

lets solve some RF problems 😛

I think Ray Liotta is an underrated actor. I love his sudden change of emotion in his face.

Example: During SMITH last night, his 'boss' was trying to fire him and Ray was trying to be 'mafia subtle' by 'implying' what the boss really wants to do (or not do 🙂 ). The 'boss' wasn't biting and suddenly Ray changed from the 'best-buddy-who's-trying-to-help' to 'I'm-gonna-cut-off-your-balls-and-shove-down-your-throat' with a simple facial expression. Very convincing. Kinda scary too.

It's a 'season pass' on my Tivo

'Charlie'(Behrooz' mother) must own the company as a front for her fence.

Yeah, Thief. That was a good show. I watched all of them... did it get cancelled?? I also liked Over There on FX, and I'm not sure what happened to that one either.

Smith was pretty good last night too. I don't know people's names, but the leader of the group... he looks funny and doesn't seem to fit well with his character... in my eyes.

Thief and Over There were both cancelled 🙁

I like Smith so far but it will probably be cancelled soon 🙁
