Do you have a group of friends to play regularly with?

Nah, with my schedule, I just play when I have time. I'm more of an Arena and Assault player, though I will hit up Joust once in a while. I'm just not a strong enough player to play Conquest.

I enjoy it and have been playing here and there. But I can't stand the pay scheme - 5500 is too much!

Also the god rotation is too slow.

$30 for the God Pack to unlock all current gods and all future gods.

I have put so many hours into Smite --so many more hours than most of my favorite single player and even MMORPG games. Paying $30 for that many hours of excellent entertainment is entirely justified.

You can still unlock other gods with the "Favor" currency and some gods have different values. I think Cupid is one of the cheapest ones at like 1200 favor or something (I don't remember, I have the God Pack). Moderate gods cost 5500 favor. Expensive gods cost 9500 favor.

It doesn't take much to earn that much, but what are you complaining about for the cost of zero dollars? Whine less. ;)

I started playing a couple weeks ago...I'm like level 12 right now and I'm finding the normal mode games to be absolutely infuriating. Arena is the worst. They completely ignore the minions and then wonder why we lose. Or we'll get someone disconnect after their first death.

I played a Conquest game today where two people left immediately after their first death, another person running in and feeding 6 deaths immediately and then the person who called solo mid stayed in fountain and never left after his first death.

I mean, come the fuck on! When does that shit end?

I really like playing Thanatos, who can jungle really well early on...and I have people who want to "help" me with the camps come over and abandon the lane. It's like they don't understand the point of the jungle camps. The buffs are a bonus, but the real benefit is that you can have basically a 4th farmer.

Anyway, I'm hoping it'll get better...I've only actually had a handful of really good, even games...it's usually either someone from my team disconnects and we get stomped, someone from their team disconnects and we stomp, or the people on one team or another just don't know wtf they're doing.

Also, I'm really, really, really sick of Kulkulken.

Please, no foul language in the tech forums. -Admin DrPizza

Eh, it never fully goes away but it definitely gets better. Early on people are just clueless, esp if they have no other MOBA experience. Eventually they will understand the game modes and general roles. Unfortunately the totally clueless people are replaced by high-intensity know it alls who won't hesitate to let you know either.

Probably the best suggestion to keeping your sanity is to just find some people you gel with and try to queue with them. It also doesn't help that matchmaking is still pretty wonky and the playerbase is smaller than it should be.

When does that end?

It ends when you get higher level to play against higher level players. You're level 12. You're not even half way to max account level (30). Match maker pairs you up against people near your level who have a similar ELO (win/loss ratio). That usually means dumb kids and tards who don't put much time into the game -who don't even understand how to build or play the god they've chosen. Also, PUG teams always suck. Always.

The higher your level, the better the game experience gets.

However, if you REALLY want to reduce the bull, find a regular team to play with. I have a team of about 8 of us who play regularly. We team up as often as possible to minimize the number of PUG players and to work together for a better overall experience.

Gaming with friends is ALWAYS more fun and always more rewarding.

Above all else, unless you're playing this game to make money for a living, stop taking the game so seriously. It's a game. If you can't have fun playing a game, you shouldn't be playing.

Meh. If you want a serious game, play a ranked game. Don't play a casual game if you expect everyone else to play their best.
Casual matchmaking sucks, AND its hard if people are queuing in groups. How to balance a level 50+ mastery / level 30 guy that queues with his first-time-player friend?

And of course there is not insignificant chunk of players that get their jollies beating up on new players. Since its free to play, the best player in the world could start a new account and be matched up with people with 0 games played ever. Its a hard problem to fix.

But same advice holds, the game is better when queuing with friendlies.

And yeah, god pack is one of the best values in gaming IMO. It probably won't be around forever either.

Even since very early beta in 2013, they've been saying FOR A LIMITED TIME OMG and threatening the godpack to be $150... but it's been $30 forever. I doubt it'll change any time soon. lol.

That doesn't happen very often.

Yes, they're called "smurf accounts" and I have a smurf account called "manIsuck". Suck it, noob.

Yep! Always! :D

Yeah, I won't deny stomping people is satisfying, but once you realize your opponent could be new to the game and you just gave them a terrible first impression it loses some of its luster.

I have played lower level accounts when queuing with friends new to the game, so that my lvl 30 main account does not pull in people way above their skill level. But then I tend to be way above the skill level of other people we are matched with. Its just not an easy problem to solve.

The "easy solution" for me when I'm on my 30 account and playing with a low level buddy is to play a god that I'm not familiar with or just don't have mastered.

It's Gem Week!

From now until the end of the month, You will receive 25 gems for your first "first win of the day" once. Each other first win of the day will net you 5 gems.

If you do all of them, you get 50 gems per day. That's one treasure chest every 4 days!

I you have a headset, a mic, and thick skin, consider using Curse Voice.

http://beta.cursevoice.com/

It auto-connects everyone on your team each match into a private voice channel so you can coordinate games using proper comms instead of typing and using those irritating in-game V-menu things that are silly to memorize and clumsy to use.

For installing and using it once, you get 200 free gems. If you don't like it, uninstall it and be done with it and enjoy your free 200 gems anyway.

Did anybody get any cool stuff from treasure chests with all these free gems given out from the 17th to the 30th?

I picked up a Zeus skin, a Guan Yu skin, a Chronos voice pack, and about a week's worth of premium. :awe:
