Smilies, possible to have the old ones back?

Sorry if I'm duplicating a thread. Searched here in FI for "smiley", "smilies", "smileys" and "old smilies" and nothing came up.

Would it be technically practicable to re-instate the old smilies (not to get rid of the additions, just the ones that were altered)? It seems that it would be a popular move from the sentiment in OT. I understand that it might not be possible, or that it might be more hassle than it's worth but I thought I'd ask. Appreciate your time.

These aren't the "old ones" I'm thinking of, but they're pretty good! The last two generations of smilies have been improvements with respect to their immediate predecessor, and these latest ones actually have almost as much character as the first-generation ones did. Strictly IMHO, of course

I'd be interested in seeing all the polls that folks put up when things went to FuseTalk 3. Much of the same "Change is bad" mentality. I think I remember not liking the FT3 smilies, but I could be smoking the grape-flavored crack again.

No, we're staying with what we have. Thanks. This exact same thing happened last time "change" was introduced, and we're going to leave things as they are.
