Your nose can also act as a guru. It can teach you things, alarm you of immediate danger, and other things. Memory recall also makes sense when you regard the sense of smell as the base arbiter of memory recall. There are evolutionary reasons why this sense regarded as the base primal arbiter. in the room you are in even if you are not consciously smelling something obvious, you are literally smelling 24/7.

You may say that we are evolving away from this sense, but the primal foundation is this there and should be regarded as such. Think with your nose and you will be rewarded in the naturalistic sense. It's a guide, it's not going anywhere. You nose it's true+
