At the risk of repeating myself, I repeat... Foley's part in this is already past news. His behavior either is or is not technically illegal, but it's clear he came onto some pages, some of whom may have been under the age of consent in their home districts, which may be a higher age than in Washington DC. In any case, I think his actions were highly questionable. What will happen to him as a result of his actions is in the hands of law enforcement and the courts.Originally posted by: aidanjm

Foley's behavior was arguably predatory (or not, depending on the page's own preferences and inclinations) - but his behavior was certainly not pedophilic. ...
The more important question is whether Dennis Hastert and other Republican leaders knew about Foley's behavior, and they acted to cover it up to avoid political damage, rather than to protect the interests of the pages entrusted to the care of ALL of Congress. Regardless of hether Foley's specific actions were "technically" legal, the act of covering it up raises strong questions about the the ethics of anyone who participated in such a cover up.
