I can't seem to figure out how to manually assign IPs with this router (non-DHCP). Anyone out there know how to do it?

when you go into the router config some have a section where you can specify the ip for any device connected (based on the mac address of the device)

but not all routers have that option. so on those the best way is to manually config the ip on the computer

so if you have the router set with dhcp and it is set to use 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.100 then manually set your pc for some address above 100 and below 254 (ie. set it for 192.168.1.110)

go into the tcp/ip properties of the network connection of the device you want to configure
under the "general"

if your router is ip 192.168.1.1 then use these settings

ip 192.168.1.xxx (some address thats not in the range of dhcp)
subnet 255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1

dns 192.168.1.1

So if I just turn DHCP off entirely on the router than I can specify any IP in the 192.168.1.x range? (i.e. 2-254)

The Router can have its DHCP On or Off. When it is On you can decide on the range of the IP numbers that it would deliver. As an Example: 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.20 or 192.168.100.100 to 192.168.100.200

If you want to assign a manual IP to your computers it is done in the computer?s Network setting not by Router.

You can leave the DHCP On, and assign a manual IP in any of your computers provided that the IP number is not within the range of the Router?s DHCP.

Log to this page it has a lot of links to instructions to Windows Network Settings, and Sharing.
