Ok here's another wireless package deal that should any of you missed out earlier on the Amazon deal.

Buy your package here from CompUSA for the SMC Wireless for $249.99
The PC card deal is here
The USB Adapter deal is here

Amex pricematch to $177 from Comp-U-Plus

Get your $50 Rebate here before 2/23

So the breakdown is as follows:

SMC Router Combo: $249.99
AMEX Pricematch: 177.00
Rebate: - 50.00
Shipping: 5.00
Tax: Varies
-----------------------------------------
Total $ 132 + Tax

You might be able to save the shipping cost by buying it locally. Let me know if their is any error in my calculation. If this works someone please trade me the USB Adapter. I have an extra D-Link or NetGear PC card that I would like to trade for the USB Adapter for my desktop.

You're comparing apples and oranges - the CompUSA deal is for the wireless router + NIC, while the Comp-U-Plus price is for just the router. I don't use AMEX, but I seriously doubt they'd be stupid enough to pricematch 2 different things like this.

Here's whats wrong.

From compusa, you are buying the Router for $200 plus a PC card or USB Adapter for $100 -$50 IR -$50MIR.

When you do a AMEX PM, you will only be PMing the router so you will get $23 from AMEX.

SMC Router Combo: $249.99
AMEX Pricematch: - 23.00
Rebate: - 50.00
Shipping: 5.00
Tax: Varies
-----------------------------------------
Total $ 182 + Tax

Amazon had this router for only $16x, but now it's over $200.

With AMEX pricematch, all they see is the amount total paid and the store purchased from. AMEX does not distinguish whether or not you purchase other item or receive other items within the same order. If the items are listed separately on the order, it will be easier to pricematch.

Can someone verify if the is doable with AMEX. If the item description on the receipt is vague then I think it's do-able. Anyone actually bought this item from Compusa?

Even for $199.00 AR is still a pretty hot deal IMO. SMC is very good about sending out rebates, I never had to wait for more then four weeks to get my money back. With PC card in the mix, this easily rivals Amazon deal.
