SMC Router yet again, need help!

I have the barricade 4-port router, with the printer server. I attached the Epson Printer(Stylus Color 600) and it wouldn't work even when I had installed the software that came with the router, and uninstalling the epson software and going to the website to just get the drivers. Then after that I played around with the spool manager for Epson and went to the setup menu and enabled "Use Print Manager for this port". After doing this, the printer would work for both my computers which I have connected to the router. I'm unable to use the epson features(such as telling how much ink and stuff is left), but that doesn't bother me. The thing that bothers me is that now it takes alot longer to print something. Around 4times longer then it used to take when I had the printer connected directly to my computer. Is there anyway to increase the print speed and still be able to keep my printer connected to the router?

O/S: Win98SE
Using PRTmate (All-in-1 ip sharer) [This is the port which the software on the cd installs]

i have the same router and same printer, and have not seen any decrease in speed. In fact, I believe it is faster. Only difference is that I am running win2k and not win98.

i have same thing and i don't think you can see the ink level and other stuff though because you can only use it one direction instead of bi direction

Marqui, are your settings the same as mine aswell?

lordofdeath, yah the ink feature doesn't bother me a bit actually. Just want to speed up the printing. Quality and all is still there, except the speed.
