SMC7008ABR - Barricade? 8 Port 10/100 Mbps Broadband Router

If i wanted to, could i dissable the router part of it, and just use it as a switch? but still use it as a print server and use the comm port for dial on demand?

is it possible to not use any part of the router functions?

is this routers switch just as good as the EZNET-8SW switch performance wise??

thank you for your time & help with this.

You can not disable the Router part.

However, it is not necessary to disable any thing, just use the Switch, the Printer Server, the DHCP, and ignore the Router part.

Thw switch part is just as good as the stand alone switch.

If, however you have another DHCP server in your network, then you would want to dissable the DHCP function of the SMC router.

i can dissable NAT, firewall, DHCP, so essentially it is just the switch when i do that. does do the store and forward stuff like the actual switch it self?

will i see a performance increase from my little 5 port linksys hub?
