SMC Router and Linksys Switch Problem

So I've got an SMC Wireless Barricade router going into my Linksys switch (the router has wireless + wired). I have a cross-over cable going in to port 5 of the linksys switch (I tried a straight through in both port5 and uplink but neither configs worked). I have a computer running win2k that can connect to the router/internet no probelm. But my XP machine will not pick up an IP address! Its link light is lit on the switch and it is blinking as if there is traffic going by. I have tried different network cables but no luck each time. Is there anything I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Andrew

Use a straight through cable and plug into port 1 of the switch.

no dice. I have tried almost everyone wire configuration but nothing. It's almost as if the port on the router is only allowing one computer to get an IP address off of it. It's an SMC 7004AWBR wireless + 3 port wired router.

Re-install the Protocol stack for the NIC in your XP box.

Check to see how many IPs the router is configured to broadcast.
