I am using the D-Link DI-713p wireless router and also used to use SMC 4 port+printer server router...
(They are both rebadged Amit routers)
They both run fine on my Charters cablem modem except one thing.
I have to manually restart the router every or every other day.
Is this normal?? The router will "hang" and I won't have any internet connection until
I restart the router.

Is there any solution to this problem? New firmware?
Do I have incorrect settings on the router?

Any info greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

The SMC had this problem a while ago. It was corrected with firmware upgrade. Check support websites of the Routers.

I recently updated the router's firmware... it added a few new features but still locks up occasionally.. but since
I can reboot the router remotely... it is not really a problem...

I do have another question that is much more important...
Time to time my connection's (using Orinoco wireless USB client) response time will slow down to the point
of timingout on webpages which is becoming very very annoying...

I do not know what the problem is other than that I might need a little boost in signal??
I am running newest driver on the Orinoco client and newest firmware on the wireless router (D-Link DI713p)..
my signal is marginal (low) at SNR of 8-11...

Is there anyway for me to boost signal?? Either adding antenna (possible??) to router to client... or even
"hacking"?? the router or client??

Any information greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
