You need to be careful, just because it may be an OEM version of the SMC, manufacturers often change some code or components to prevent this type of upgrade. If it does work, this is a great deal. I may just pick one up and try it.

I agree, it is like flashing 7004BR with 7004ABR firmware, they do look and function exactly like each other but you never know what exact hardware they have in there.

I bought a real 7004ABR for about $50 after rebates, not that big of a difference in price between the real thing and generic version.
