I've had both and would recommend the Barricade. I purchased the SMC from buy.com for $121 after rebates, tax, shipping. The initial setup is easier with the Linksys, the SMC requires software installation from cd before you can log onto the router. Updating to 1.88 firmware is now done via .exe instead of ftp. The SMC is far more stable and allows you to lease the ip for 5 weeks vs the 6 days for the linksys when using DHCP. It is reasonably stable with multiple logins in CS and Q3(2 in the same server works, three get us all kicked out)
Now for the bad, its very compact unit and is basically butt ugly compared to the linksys. Something to consider if you are buying this unit for others. No uplink port, a short ps cord, and a sorry excuse for a users manuel. The LEDs are tiny and are not functional, it also has a blinking yellow power LED that can be VERY annoying. I would recommend that you put it under your desk or at least out of sight. The SMC is cheaper, more reliable, and just as easy to use if you know what you're doing.
