SMC Barricade router won't allow me to acess internet through ftp

I have an SMC Barricade router that i just bought for everyone to share the connection in my apartment through cable and when I try to play counterstrike or use an ftp program to connect to an ftp site it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to bypass this supposed "firewall"?

r u using a ftp client or just ftp off the dos prompt.. if client, use passive mode where it piggy back on the same port instead of using another port which is probably closed...

Log onto your routers settings page and go to Access Control and allow ports 21-23. Or use the Special AP section. Or go to the Misc. Items screen and DMZ your machine

You need to specify which port to use in CuteFtp. The person running the server may have specified a non-standard port to use (other than 21). Due to ISP scans many users do use a non-standard port.

As far as CS goes you need to go in to the special apps section and tell it what port to forward. For example, here is an IP and port for a CS server: 213.61.217.212:27015

You need to tell your SMC to open 27015.
