I just bought a SMC Barricade from onvia, and I am wondering if any of you gamers out there would like to share your experience? I searched for someones thoughts but only difficulties have been posted...

Do you ping better/worse to online games? and do LAN games work ????

 
I just don't like the fact that it doesn't have a Uplink port. 'cause sometimes we'll want to connect 5 computers. that's the reason that i got the Linksys instead 'cause you can connect 5 computer to it using a "crossover" cable connected from the computer to the uplink port. Therefore, the LInksys is really a 4-port.

Anyway, the SMC was a good router. It's easier to set up. Your ping should go up but only slightly. and YES, LAN games work.
 
I have had the SMC setup for about 3 weeks now and have had no major problems what so ever. I play alot of Quake3 and my ping didn't change at all.

I thought that my ping changed, but it was only the cable🙂 not very reliable.

It might affect your ping a bit (but not much)

i havent looked into lan games yet (2 comps) all i would need to do is forward a few ports in the ____.

annyone like fill in the blank? 🙂
