Bought one (7004BR) in the FS/FT forum. Everything was perfect for the first day. Both comps could see each other, both shared my Optimum online cable modem. Speeds were slightly slower on both PC's (win2k/98 dual boots onboth). All of the sudden, yesterday, my 2 nd machine can barely access the internet. Gets hung up opening almost any page, can barely even get into the Router main login page. Ping the IP, sometimes it works, sometimes it times out.
Did I get a broken router? Anyone have any ideas? This sucks.

Have you checked for the latest firmware? Release/renew, and poweroff/poweron? SMC Tech support?

My 7004AWBR was a tad finicky for the first day but then settled down and has given me zero trouble since.
 
Too much trouble for me. Just bought a Linksys on sale for $79,99. My D/L speeds tested out even higher then they did without a router. I will miss the print server, but I am just gonna Ebay it, unless someone on here wants it 😀
