I have the SMC Barricade router.. but sometimes it seems as if I can't get a connection w/ the CS servers. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? However, if I place the computer IP in the DMZ, then it works fine.. but that defeats the purpose of the firewall. So I was just wondering if there are ports that I neeed to list or open?

em... The last time I checked.. Nope. I didn't need to open any ports for CS. Just ran it and it connected to servers.

edit: mines a linksys though so i dunno if there's a difference

I don't have any roughters to the net cause I am on 56K.. but what i can say is that your firewall is blocking the connection out to the servers. Try and have a software based firewall when playing CS running, I know its abit inconvenient, but thats the only way to get past that firewall problem of yours. I don't know what port is responsible, but when you play CS you can take the firewal off and then use the software based one as security while playing.

Hope that helped abit..

I have an SMC Barricade 7004BR, and you don't have to open any ports for Counter-Strike. I think you need to in order to create a server, though.
