I wish I hadn't purchased mine two weeks ago from Outpost.com, I bought it back when it was a "deal" at $114-MIR from Outpost. I guess it pays to wait. I found this site just randomly. They have free shipping, have Staples pricematch it. Staples doesn't have it online, you gotta call (djchemistry suggests that you call during the weekday, so that they can call the warehouse to avoid the "out-of-stock" excuse and "not identical product" excuse).

$87.00 PM (SKU #IM1034501)
+$13 Miscellaneous Stuff
-$20 20 off 100 coupon
-$20 Rebate
----------------------
$60 (incl. $13 worth of free misc stuff)

Can't do much better than that!

Have them pricematch to AllBusiness.com (SMC 4-Port Barricade)

You may have some problems with shipping cost; it's free shipping (but 3-7 day). You may get charged (in that case, it's $3 of free stuff since shipping would be $10).

Figures . . . I ordered the same one from Buy.Com last week (for $99.99) - it arrives tomorrow . . . :disgust:

Thanks for the info, tho' . . . I can at least pass it on to a few friends.

Hi folks. I hope you don't hate me for this but, Staples carries this same router. Their item# is IM1034501. So you could PM and use a coupon of your choosing to further sweeten the deal.

Nice deal! I would get it if I didn't already have one. Thanks.

SFGuy, you can order a USB motherboard adapter, ground shipping is free. Or you can order from Onvia for less, $5.77, link with free ground shipping. ;)

You are so right! Completely forgot about that...

But you'll need to throw in some additional stuff to push it over $100

$87 PM
+$13 Miscellaneous Stuff
-$20 20 off 100 coupon
-$20 Rebate
----------------------
$60 (incl. $13 worth of free misc stuff)

You may have some problems with shipping, it's free shipping, (probably not next day)

About the USB cable, I was thinkin' some one buy it for me and send it in a little envelope to me (Free?) :)

DJchemistry-

I couldn't find the router on Staples website. Could it be a regional item? How about a link?

Thanks
Glenn

Glenn this item isn't available online - only by telephone order.

Now for the truly interesting part of this story....

I tried earlier this evening to do this price-match. I could hear the supervisor in the background telling the CSR I was speaking to, what excuse to use. His exact words were, "just tell him its not in stock ". Now aint that a crock of sh.t!

K-Squared, did you say anything to the CSR about hearing him say that? And did the CSR just repeat what he told him/her to say? I'd have asked to speak to the supervisor and inquire as to why he feels it necessary to lie to customers over the phone.

That could be Staples' internal policy/order for the supervisor, CSR - use whatever way to avoid giving pricematch. Why should a business sell you something without profit? If you're the owner, will you want to do that?

Yes. That's how you keep customers happy and overall you will be rewarded by their business. No business is worse than no profit. Remember you are not talking about mom/pop shop.

I suggest you edit the initial post to reflect the better deal. Not everyone has the time or connection to read through all the posts.

Also, it's best to pricematch during the weekday so that you can ask them to call up the warehouse themselves. This will...
1) Give them no excuse as to whether or not the product is the same
2) Take away the classic "Not in-stock" excuse.

Good point. Do other regulars do this also? Meaning, I can usually just read the first post for the best deal pricing? How many posts until I'm upgraded from Junior Member?

Also, how do you know if Staples carries something if it's not at their online store? You actually have their catalog or something?

Hot hot hot! Great find, SFGuy!

Just wanted to point out to those of you who are Coupon Code trigger happy.

If you think about it, just ordering from the AllBusiness.com with free shipping and mail in rebate, the router is a sweet $67.00 anyway! No Price Matching headaches and you prolly won't get charged sales tax.

I think this is a hot deal as it is w/o the Staples whack fu.

I just ordered one from these guys myself (a few other things I needed too ;)).

I just don't want to bother w/ all the PM hassle. This is a great deal all by itself IMO.

Thanks. :)

Thanks for the deal SF guy! I went ahead and just did the allbusiness deal too. Not too much difference with tax and less hassle. I also picked up a netgear fa310tx nic for $18 and change. Seemed a good price with free shipping from what I saw on pricewatch. I only forgot the cable :-(
hahahhahahaaaaa
oh well... maybe they'll be some in the box...

thanks for the post,

Yup... there are 2 ethernet cables included in the Barricade box. I haven't measured them, but I believe they're 10 feet.
