SMC 7004VBR or D-Link DI-604

I'm looking at getting one of these routers and am a newbie to this kind of thing (although I have no problems learning).

I'm going to be setting up a home network with a .11g WAP for a laptop and desktop PC that will be connected to the router, a FTP/Webserver and a second desktop PC will be running directly off the router.

My question is which one of these would you recommend to get (or discourage from getting) and why?

neither, either go with the Buffalo Tech G router (very nice) or the SMC 2804WBR. I have one and have deployed 3-4 others with NO problems including using WPA TKIP>

Unless you need the special capacities of an Access Point you wasting your money by buying a Wired Router and a separate Access Point.

Of the two Wired Routers that you mentioned I would go with the 7004VBR. It has few unique DMZ settings not available on any other Router.

I'm just getting a router for now becayse the wireless part won't come into play for about a year or so.

DMZ what is that and how is it useful?
