Hi, I just install my router and I don't have cable so basically I use the dial up with internal modem. So I plug in the cable from the network card from my primary pc to the router and the second cable from the network card from my second pc to the router. On the router I see the yellow light blinking. Exactly on the m1 one. What is that? Does anybody know what is wrong with it? My internet sharing is just fine but the blinking is annoying so I want to know if there is something wrong with it. Thanks

Means it's alive, dude. See page 7 of your user manual (you can find it on the CD) for all the LED states. If you don't like it, stick a piece of tape over it.

The Router can route what comes through the WAN input. Since you don?t have Cable or DSL I wonder our your sharing works.

The Barricade has one light that always blinks (about 1 blink per sec.). I don?t remember the Color, so either this is normal. Or it is a Blink that tells you that the WAN is not connected, which is normal in your case.

well actually there are 2 lights. The wan light and the m1. The one that is blinking is the m1 and the wan one is not on. Is that normal? Thanks

I'm really confused here why you bought a router if you have nothing to route? :Q Why not get a 4 port switch or hub for a lot less money?

ok, I want to use DSL but I am broke now so I have to wait until I have enough money. $5o per month is kinda hard for me right now. I will use DSL when I got a nice job. So since there is a good deal about the router (check the hot deal forum), I think I better get this one first and later on if I want to use DSL, I already have it. That's the reason.

One blinking light states that the router is working properly.
Since WAN is not connected it being off is correct also.
