SMC 1016DT Switch Problem

Hi, at my office we have a SMC 1016DT 10/100 Switch and the 100 light blinks when nothing is connected. When you do connect it, the activity light starts blinking very fast. Does anyone know why, this isn't supposed to happen and only started today. Thanks.
