The data visualizations above show the market share distribution for major smartphone operating systems since 2007. The data only includes operating systems on sold devices marketed as smartphones, e. g. it doesn't include Nokia's S40 operating system.

Anandtech is mostly US residents. Symbian was more popular in Europe.

I was using my Nokia E75 until last year, maybe around May 2013 when I traded it in. And I still have my E51 which I consider as my main 'backup phone'.

Heck yeah I'm one of those fanboys!

If you read some of the fanboy commentary in Canada, RIM is doing just fine... It's the customers that are stupid and wrong.

Android hasn't seen sales drop from the prior quarter in the past four years. iOS has peaks and valleys, based on seasonal sales and the yearly introduction of one new phone.
